The UNDAC Advisory Board (AB) serves as a key platform for member governments, international and regional organizations, and humanitarian partners to provide strategic guidance, strengthen partnerships, and ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the UNDAC system. The AB provides input on policy and practice, monitors system performance, and support to network activities, including on relevant emergency operations.

The AB is composed of self-funded (paying) and sponsored (non-paying) member states, associated members, operational support partners, and representatives from previously affected disaster-prone countries, all of whom are encouraged to participate equally and have equal speaking rights during meetings.

The overall aim of the UNDAC AB meeting is for the board members to provide operational and strategic guidance to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the UNDAC system, which must remain fit for purpose at global and regional levels as a rapid response tool and cooperation mechanism of the UN.

The AB Terms of Reference spell out details on key objectives, membership, responsibilities, chairmanship, core committee, agenda, funding and outputs.
